Changing shocks for a softer ride

I have a'73 K20 PU and it currently has a very stiff and bouncy ride. I was thinking that it may be time for some new shock absorbers because I dont know the last time they were changed.

Would swapping out the shocks make for a less bumpy ride and if so, which set woudl do this the best? I dont want anything like a Cadillac but it currently reminds me of my old Jeep CJ7 and I want something kind of in between.

Ridetech has the best shock for the money hands down. I even put them on my new Silverado. I can drop ship them to you if you want them.

Re: Changing shocks for a softer ride

Is it lowered? Could you measure the shocks center to center at ride height.

Re: Changing shocks for a softer ride

They look to be 20" center to center. Does that sound right?
