Found my Suburban

It has been a long time searching, but my fiancee and I finally found our truck. It started with a trip in our friends '73 Bronco which she loved and was gung-ho to get one of our own - until I showed her how much a decent Bronco actually costs.

After a little gentle nudging I got her excited about getting an old Suburban. The price range was right, and you can do a whole lot more than you can with a Bronco.

We've been looking since September trying to wait for the right one and we finally found it. We called the guy, got some info, and left for Phoenix the same day. We left at 11 pm on Saturday in a rental car for a 12 hour drive to beat a couple of other tire kickers. Stayed in a hotel Sunday, then Monday morning after a fluid change we drove back up to Northern California without a hitch.

Very Nice 'Burb. Factory dual A/C, looks like tilt column, clean body and love the winch up front. Have a great time with that ride !

Re: Found my Suburban

Welcome to the board. Super nice Burb for sure.

On a side note, are there lift blocks under the front springs?

Re: Found my Suburban

Thanks evryone, we're excited about it. I'm excited to have a project now. The only pressing need it has is to trace down a leak in the A/C system. It's ready to go as it sits, but the plan is to slowly clean it up and restore it bit by bit. Saving up for all new weatherstripping and window seals, and will probably have it re-painted at the same time.

Unfortunately the previous owner put a cheap Earl Scheib coat on it, but I want to get a nice quality paint job and bring it back to its original green color.

Yes, it has 3" lift blocks. It looks the business and we don't plan on doing any serious wheeling, just camp trips and snow trips so I may leave them and avoid the hassle of changing it out. Time will tell I guess.
