Bolt in 9" for 60-72 trucks at Speedway motors

OK, I haven't been on here much lately, so not sure of this is a repost or old news, but I don't remember seeing it on here anywhere. Speedway motors has bolt in 9" rearends for our beloved trucks.

Seems like a lot for an empty housing with some spring perches, especially since you still gotta find axles and a center section. Plus, what is it made of? The old WAR vs N cases discussion STILL is going on.

You can build an 8.8 for less, and be pretty freaking strong. The 9" is heavy, and while very strong, it is "favorited" on name mostly. Plenty of people have snapped the bad-case 9", and plenty have run single digits on fabbed-junkyard 8.8's

Thats for a "reconditioned" unit. (aka junkyard put through a parts washer).
Its not the worst thing since its harder to find some 9's these days, but your not exactly getting something like a Fab9 for that money.

Yeah finding a used 9 inch is getting harder lately,Ford dropped the 9 inch in 86 for the 8.8 and finding anything that old in a junkyard today is rare here.The 8.8 ain't bad and made in a ton of different widths.

The 8.8 is almost a carbon copy of the GM 12 bolt, though. It still uses c-clips.

It looks similar, and is designed to a very similar spec. The 8.8 has 31 spline axles, different # of bolts on the pan, and slightly different optional gearings. The bearings etc are similar but not the same, and the c-clip setup is a little different. From what I've read, its also much different when trying to eliminate the c-clips on the 8.8 rears that were disc equipped (and those parts are NOT cheap)
