1964 rear view

I bought my truck in boxes and cans. I can't find the rear view mirror and the cab has no holes in the cab above the windshield to mount one.. Did it have a glue to the glass mirror???

Re: 1964 rear view

That's an interesting subject, no interior rear view mirror. The accessories book shows only the Day/Night NonGlare mirror as an option attached to regular production arm.
Nothing on the order sheet for factory option.
Regular mirror part number 3767369 which supersedes 5729037 1958-65.
66-70 part number 3633013 non glare. no regular?

I have seen grain trucks with no center rear mirror, on account of the giant grain bed making a center rear mirror superfluous.

Re: 1964 rear view

True that not all came with cab mirrors. As I recall, my 62 C20 did not have one, despite having the Custom Comfort option. Go figure.

Re: 1964 rear view

1960 C-10 Short Box, Custom Cab, factory auto, big back window, all extra chrome, and yet NO original rear view mirror??? No screw holes above windshield-never had the mirror. I bought it with a rear view mirror with bracket glued to windshield like newer vehicles.

Re: 1964 rear view

IIRC, I was told that the trucks that had the larger outside mirrors rarely came with interior mirrors. IDK really, made sence at the time.

Remember, these trucks were made to work, not go fast or look all that pretty. Most buyers in that time would save $5 if he could.

My truck came with nothin! no heater, no inside mirror, nothin. it was an Oklahoma truck so maybe they didnt need the heater? I cant believe that, it gets darn cold up there!

Re: 1964 rear view

out of the 80 or so trucks that were at the local salvage yard, I would say less than 20 of them had the mirror.

Re: 1964 rear view

My old beater '64 had no cab mounted rear view mirror and only had one sun visor, on the driver side.

No air, no heat, no radio either.
