Ive been working on my 67 C-10 for a few months now. The truck has a 454/th400 combo. Re: 1967 C-10 Build

Yeah the quality of all the porter built stuff is great. After seeing the frame put back together after powder coating I hate putting the body back on it as well. I shaved most of the firewall. As of right now it is just the brake booster, steering column, and wiring harness left on the firewall. Still deciding on if I wanna go with a under dash mounted brake booster.

Re: 1967 C-10 Build

After I was able to get the body on I found out the th400 did not want to fit through the factory opening and under the high hump transmission cover so I had to cut and extend the high hump transmission cover about a 1.5" taller and cut some more of the floor out for the yolk to clear and the body to sit down on the body mounts. I will be keeping the 1 piece driveshaft so I will have to tunnel my floor.

Re: 1967 C-10 Build

Yeah the rack and pinion came with the kit. I had to trim about a inch on both sides to be able to toe the wheels in.

Front clip mounted, just waiting on my PB hood hinges

I was finally able to roll the truck out of the garage.

And started building the raised bed floor.

Re-installed the doors and bedsides.

I'm in. Are you going to run a cowl hood? Looks like the air cleaner sticks out above the hood line when aired out.

Re: 1967 C-10 Build

I'm going to have to change out the intake to a lower rise, and change out the tall air filter as well. I wanna keep the factory hood. I will be going with the Raceline hooligans in a 24x10's for the rears and a 22x8.5's for the fronts.

Awesome build so far. I've got a lot of the same parts for mine but I'm WAY behind you on progress. I'll be following along for this one.

Re: 1967 C-10 Build

I got my wheels in for the truck. There Raceline Hooligans 24x10 5.5bs on the rears and 22x8.5 with a 5.5bs up front. The tires are Nitto 420s 285/30/24 and 265/35/22. The front tires I will have to go with a smaller size due to them hitting the hood when layed out. Most likely will go with a 255/30/22. I ended up getting new bumpers, grille trim, and headlight bezels and took it out to Lonestar Throwdown in Conroe,Tx.

Re: 1967 C-10 Build

And I ended up pulling the truck back apart after the show so I can go ahead and install the new one piece trailing arm cross member from Porterbuilt and get ready to install my motor, transmission, and drive shaft. And while its back apart I'm going to go ahead and take some more stuff to powder coating and run my brake lines and install the Porterbuilt tank and compressor mounts.

Re: 1967 C-10 Build

The 1 piece trailing arm from Porterbuilt finally came in. I was able to install my drive shaft and transmission, and start on my driveshaft tunnel and raising the rest of the floor for the trailing arm crossmember.

That's a very impressive build. The workmanship looks top notch and I really like the color.
