66 C10 disc brake question

Anyone used a factory Power Brake booster on a 1966 C10 and changed the master cylinder over to a dual cylinder when doing a front disc brake conversion? J

Ive used a similar booster from a 1966 Impala on several trucks. Its the same booster as a truck just different mounting to the firewall. Disc brake master fits fine and truck stops great. Heres my 66 Suburban .

That looks great! Do you have front and rear discs? Is there a proportioning valve somewhere in your system?

Thank you. I so far don't see the need for rear disc's , but then maybe my truck isn't fast enough ? Yes you should run a proportioning valve in the system, heres how I did mine, some put it under the master cylinder but this is how the late 70s 80s trucks were so I ran my lines like that for a cleaner more concealed look.

60-66 Thanks for sharing. Hiding the proportioning valve was a great idea. That was going to be my next question. Did you custom build all the steel lines? Jim

Yes, had to in order to do it this way. Last one I did I tried this new, Copper nickel I think its called ? Brake line , bends and flares very easy . The steel brake line corrodes to fast here in the rust belt , not that any of these get driven in the winter though. Just had to replace every brake line in the 2000 Chevy I bought new.

Yes, the pliers and by hand. The loops by the master cylinder I wrapped around a piece of PVC tube .

Jon, I know it's years later , but I'm working on the power dual drum conversion to my 64. I bought a 67 booster and mc but don't have the brackets. I see you mounted your booster right to the firewall which is what I did, but h9w did you deal with the pushed to the pedal?
I measured pedal distance off the floor on another truck I have then made an extension to he booster rod based on that. It acts like there is not enough travel on the rod from booster to mc
(1 1/4"),but I don't know what it should be. Any help would be much appreciated!!

I used one from a 74 year model. Wilwood proportioning valve. I just cut a piece of aluminum stock and drilled some holes in it to support the valve.
