share your engine cooling upgrades

I have a 1951 chevrolet truck with a original 216 engine and vintage air AC. Would like to know what you guys have done to improve engine cooling in your trucks and maybe which changes gave you the best gains.

fan shroud? fan with more blades?(is there a readily available fan swap for the 216) aluminum radiator?

I started a fan swap but the fan pilot hole was too small for the water pump. Im drilling that out but looks like the radiator will have to be relocated slightly also.

Thanks for sharing any ideas or experiences!

Not an AD but on my TF big truck radiator, which is 1" thicker and deeper, shroud and aftermarket aluminum blade fan. Make sure you have the correct temperature thermostat and correct pressure cap.

Re: share your engine cooling upgrades

I recently bought one of the Champion radiators with a shroud and fan. It's great! Oh, and my truck, '57, has a smallblock with no AC. I'm sure if I added AC though, it wouldn't make much difference.
