Is this ultra rare or what?

So this 67 Chevy C20 CST been in my family since 68
I've looked up the vin an model number every thing checks out to factory but here's the list ( checked frame vin , cab vin ,spid vin an model # all match) I was told this is a one of a kind order made in 67 (could have been a dealer ship custom floor model)

Vin CE247Z157485
C- 4x2
E- v8 gas
2- 3/4 ton
4- pu cab an bed
7-1967
Z- Fremont ca
Last digits 157485 is production # (starts at 100001) so 57,485th one made
To what I read they only made 50,xxx of this type so how is it higher idk

model # CE20934 (from what I've read it should be CS for 67 an they didn't use CE till 68

paint code 06507AA ( I can't find any other with this paint code or this color) it's a light blue paint I've checked gm paint codes and they don't even look like this + factory option paints don't match any where close ( so was this a custom color order)

1967
C20
CST / no side markers , has CST lower trim , CST driver door badge an custom badge on pasanger side .. No badges on fender
Ho52 Detroit locked 4:57s
327 4 bolt main large journal (yes factory 327 4 bolt main)
Factory 4 barrel carb
Power steering
Heavy duty dual battery's
Heavy duty 61 amp alt
Turbo 400 granny low
Gun rack ( I know this is common)
Factory tac
Camper name plate
Tinted glass
Aux tanks (3 in total)
Deluxe air heater
Aux fuel filter
Aux HD rear spring
front and rear shock abs
Front stabilizer
Push button radio
Vinyl trim
Chromed hub caps
Small window ( I guess there where big window option for 67 befor it came standard )
Chrome front bumper and trim
HD step rear bumper

If any one has seen or herd of this let me know cause so far it looks like the only one of its kind I know my facts list are 100% true so don't post stuff like (oh they never did that your wrong blah blah blah) cause I'll lmfao cause like I said this is 100% factory an no the motor did not get journals enlarge or converted to 4 bolt main or a 4 barrel carb after it left the factory ... There's probably more I'm missing any help would be appreciated thanks .. Hope this is as rare as it seems

Re: Is this ultra rare or what?

They made roughly 350,000 1967 c/k-10 through c/k-30 trucks(no k/30s obviously). You're VIN falls within the total production number. The CST option is pretty cool, and its even the 327/400 combo. Super rare? No. Definitely cool and we'll optioned though

Re: Is this ultra rare or what?

Oh and the CE starting your vin signifies it as a two wheel drive v-8. A CS would mean two wheel drive 6 cylinder

Re: Is this ultra rare or what?

Many trucks were custom ordered and therefore one of a kind. I wouldn't call it rare, but if in good condition, and given the options, it would definitely be desireable.

Re: Is this ultra rare or what?

Personally the 4 bolt main doesn't mean much to me. The 327 part means everything in 67 though. Biggest option motor in the pickup line until 68. I believe most were 4 bbl in the pickup. Just like in 69 when the trucks went to the 350, 99% of the 350 had a 4 bbl. I would assume most 327s are 4 bbl too in 67. The 283 would have been a 2 bbl. Like I said earlier, rare isn't the word I'd use, desirable yes. If someone wanted a 67 3/4 ton, yours is about as good as it gets. Only a few options it doesn't have that would make it unbelievable (shoulder belts and speed warning). Ive seen a few loaded 67 CST 3/4 tons. Pictures would be awesome when you get a chance

Re: Is this ultra rare or what?

And the model number is just a generalization gm used. Your model number means 2 wheel drive v-8 3/4 ton longbox

Re: Is this ultra rare or what?

What would something like this restored be worth ... Cause here's the story
I scrapted the 2wd frame to put cab on a 4wd frame but found out the motor was kinda on the rare side so I'm wondering if I should get that frame back from the scrap yard for a full restoration.. It only been a month hopefully if so they'll still have it ... It would be 100%. Number match stock resto .... If it ain't worth it I'm gunna build a b**chen 4x4 resto type with a few after market up grades but nothing you could really see with era correct parts

No, that's the last year for the 327 in trucks and they were 4-bot large journal because the 350 had come out. It's an overlap motor and a great one to build off of. It's the same block as used in Z/28s (302) and SS350/350hp Camaros. It has a higher nickle content. Did you trace the engine# to find it's a large journal? I was under the impression that was a '68 thing, but could be wrong w/o checking.

There were V8s in '67s, so CE trucks were common. No big block till '68. Maybe that's where you got confused.

The trim isn't specific to the CST, but it is included on those. It is an option on anything.

If you have a TH400 you don't have granny low. That would be a 4spd manual.

Re: Is this ultra rare or what?

There is no such thing as a factory 327 4-bolt main. It is as mystical as a Unicorn. And 1967 is a small journal crank anyway so it is definitely not a 4-bolt. 1968 is the first year for a large journal 327. You can build a 4-bolt large journal 327 with a 350 block, but GM never did. What are the date codes and casting numbers on the block and heads? I see you are debating this on another post and that your block is a 3892657 which is a small journal. How do you know it is a 4-bolt? Have you had the pan off? Something is not right. I have found this morning that there was no 4-bolt mains at all until 1969-even in Z28 and Corvette! Not sure why I had never heard that before.

Also, there is no such thing as a "Turbo 400 granny low". The TH400 is a 3-speed automatic transmission. A "granny low" is a heavy duty 4-speed manual transmission with a very low first gear (like 6.55 or 7.01) that is only used to get started with heavy loads. As far as I know all TH400s have a 2.48 first gear.

As far as your question about getting the frame back, it sounds like you have made some pretty extensive mods to your truck. Not sure how much value the frame will have anymore. I would just drive it and enjoy it. That is what they were made for.

Re: Is this ultra rare or what?

Sounds like a well optioned 67 3/4 ton truck. I would say not rare at all. No 327 4 bolt main blocks that i have ever seen, and a good share of them had a 4 bbl carb. It sounds like things have been done to it over the years, as it should either have a CST emblem on both doors or CUSTOM on both, but not one of each. I believe both fenders would also have a custom camper emblem on them too. The small back window was standard and no marker lights in 67 at all.
I would say with the truck being what it is and the frame being gone already, build what you want out of it. I wouldn't worry about a "full restoration" on this one.
Does it still have the factory bucket seats in it?

x2.

Every truck is "one of one" if you break the options down far enough.

In the classic car world discussions about rarity are usually limited to model, Powertrain and (sometimes) interior/exterior color.

Not rare at all. I've seen plenty of 327s. None ever offered 4-bolt mains.

Re: Is this ultra rare or what?

Ok so I get the options make it one of a kind (like every other truck order witch seems to be a lot) the motor was rebuilt once that's how I know it's 4 bolt main LJ I'm basically 2nd owner my great uncle bought it in 68 used ( don't be fooled tho it was used cause it was driven as a advertisement by dealer ship then no longer need after next model came out ) if the 67 350 4 bolt main an LJ an shares block couldn't they have used one for there 327 for the dealership special?

Re: Is this ultra rare or what?

Evidently you cared not about the truck as a whole truck until after you junked the frame. Now either you thought better of it or someone told you that you scrapped a very valuable truck out for parts for another.
I would not worry about it at this point. Do what you want with the parts you pulled.
I would also use this as the proverbial "lesson learned" and think before you jump. Or measure twice and cut once?
No biggie. You didn't cut up the Mona Lisa by any means.

Re: Is this ultra rare or what?

Well I got the truck years ago when I was 15 an didn't know that the motor was so uncommon being ( factory 327 4 bolt LJ) so I used my truck to hall salty dogs from the beach they rusted the bed and down on the frame ..then years later I wanted a 4x4 so I picked up a 69 k20 chassis , axles an an decent bed with title for $75 lol what a deal then I swapped the cab an front clip of the 67 an scrapted the rest ... The 67 frame would need some rust repair so I didn't think much of it till a day or two ago when I started researching motor an it seem my motor doesn't exist so I thought the whole vehicle might be worth saving as a number matching 100% factory resto ... Was just my thoughts so if not I have a wicked plan for my (pieced k20 CST )

Re: Is this ultra rare or what?

There's "rare" and then there's sentimental value. Everyone wants their grandpa's truck to be rare and one of a kind. There were a lot of options for these trucks but not enough to make most of them "one of a kind".

Don't get hung up on the "numbers matching" thing... We're not talking Corvettes or Camaros. These trucks were utilitarian and engine combos were not performance driven nor were they rare.

"Numbers Matching" for these trucks will not gain any value at all.

Re: Is this ultra rare or what?

I agree with most of the very knowledgeble guys here in the fact that there is not a case to be made here for any extended value due to rarity. Simply waaayyyy to many of these trucks made including that year and with the 327 option.
Try this out tho'...in the search window at the top of this page, type 327 and click '67-72 trucks option vs. 'the web'. That will give you an idea as to how many forum members have been exposed to the 327 angle with respect to the truck hobby through various years.
All Good

Re: Is this ultra rare or what?

I'm definitely in the "or what" category. These topics come up often. Everyone wants the truck in their garage to be a rare bird. The truck may not be rare and highly valuable, but it can be special to you, and that's what really matters. You'll never stumble upon the mythical Yenko or SS model C10 that never existed. The most rare versions of these trucks you'll most likely find will be low mileage examples.
