Re: WTB - Standard in cab heater

wcstory,

I pulled a good working one out of an Arizona truck that I parted out. $80.00 plus shipping. I would take a paypal payment or a U.S. Postal money order. Thanks Runningiron.

Controls? If a complete unit I'll take it.

Shipping will be to 02649 (residential) or 02664 (commercial)

Re: WTB - Standard in cab heater

wcstory,

I will check and see if I have a wiring harness lead and the control lever switch. Other wise it is complete. I will let you know. Thanks

Re: WTB - Standard in cab heater

wcstory,

Unfortunately, I do not have the wiring harness or the control switch. Shipping for my unit displayed would be $28.00 via FEDEX. I'd take $100 shipped for my unit as is.

Aspen Auto in Fountain Hills, Az has a 64-66 GMC heater switch for $20.00 I believe. You might want to check with them to see if it is compatible. Note: the 64-66 GMC switch is a part for sale At Aspen Auto and just an illustration of a possible switch for the Thrift heater. It is not mine or included with my unit.

Thanks Bob

Sounds good, give me a couple days to check on controls.

I'm not trying to step on anyone's toes, but are the gmc and chevy controls different? I assume they are. I might have chevy thrift air controls. Once again, not trying to step on anyone just trying to help.

jdl71,

Not a problem on this end. I really don't know the difference unless I had a set side by side. If you have a set of Chevy Thrift controls. post them up. Thanks.

Re: WTB - Standard in cab heater

I will have to dig and see if I still have them. I was just offering that as an option if it would help make the sale or help the OP. If that Aspen auto part you posted would work that would probably be the best bet for the OP.

The Chevy and GMC have different dash openings and different wiring harnesses.

From what I understand there were three heaters the thrift air and deluxe which both had the heater core and blower in the engine compartment and then the Standard Air which had the in cab unit.

Re: WTB - Standard in cab heater

I have only seen the Recirculating heater in the '60-'63's. I do not know if it was an option in '64-'66. The recirculating heaters in '60-'63 had only the 2 center levers on the control. Fan speed and heat/defrost. I'm thinking that the Thrift Air heater replaced the Recirculating heater in the '64-'66's
