72 Gas Tank Source?

I'm looking for a 72 gas tank. I seem to only be able to find the older style tanks that have EEC. The 72 tank has a smaller diameter filler neck. It also uses a different gas cap and grommet. Does anyone know where I can find one?

I would post a WTB in the parts forum - you should be able to locate one. Good Luck

As far as I know, all the LMC tanks are 67-71 style.

Re: 72 Gas Tank Source?

I agree with the poster above, check the parts forum and maybe look at CL for trucks being parted out.

Now if you find one, it might have rust on the inside. Mine did. I took it to a radiator shop and had the clean it out and "renew" it on the inside with a sprayed in liner. I haven't tried it yet but I did put it back in. I had to make all new supply lines. I used Krud Kutter to clean out the inside of the vent lines.
