Re: Original Arizona 69 C20 longhorn

It was last tagged in 04' so I would assume that's the last time it ran as well. The truck is so clean and untouched, seat is original with a cover over it. The weirdest thing is that the door bottoms are rusty, rockers and kick panels are very clean though with no rot.Maybe dirt getting trapped in the bottoms of the doors. Bed wood looks very good from the underside but the bed is full of junk. Body is very straight aside from what looks like tire blowout damage on the rear of the bed. All its really missing is the Ac compressor. The thing that has me intrigued is that no spin rear end.

Nice model. Weird to see that rust on an AZ truck, but I think you're right... those stupidly small drain holes in the bottom of the door got plugged with AZ dust.

Re: Original Arizona 69 C20 longhorn

Typically $500-1000 if it's been sitting & rusty but known to run and clear Title. But that's in my area which is cheaper than other areas

Re: Original Arizona 69 C20 longhorn

Good luck buying it for 1000/1500 but if the seller will let it go for that then just buy as you can't go wrong even if you just want to flip it. A Longhorn is not everyone's cup of tea and the fact it hasn't run in 10/11 years means there could be issues before its even roadworthy. Getting the A/C working could get costly too. I think its worth 2500/3000.00

My standard answer to this is... It depends. It depends on what you can do yourself and what you'd have to pay shop labor rates to have done for you. The mechanical needs that I'd expect from a truck like this I can do myself... So I'd pay the $2500-3000 Already Gone mentioned. But... If you have to pay someone to sift through it just to get it running... ouch. Then, where do you go from there, money-wise?

The truck has serious potential... how much will it cost YOU to get it there?

Re: Original Arizona 69 C20 longhorn

If I'm paying over $1500 for that truck it better damn run and be a solid driver haha If it's not a solid driver you wouldn't pay $2500-3000 for it in my area at least.

I also look at how much money will it take to make it nice again and what's the end value of it. Here's a local one for sale already done at $15g, and will probably sell a bit lower as always. And it has modifications that need to be changed, but simple/cheap ones to bring it back to more stock looking.

http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/5416157798.html

Now say you paid $3500 for this truck you've got $12g left over to do a full restore. Not going to happen and most buyer/sellers out here understand that and they are priced accordingly. But then you do have guys like this who are dreamers usually and just watch BJ's auction lol http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/5394018104.html

Does the seller of this truck have a price in mind or are you look to see what you should offer?

Re: Original Arizona 69 C20 longhorn

I could pick it up for a very reasonable price, enough that I could get it running and clean it up so it'd be ready for the next owner. Was just curious as to what the Longhorn market is. I've completely restored 3 trucks now so any work on it is just my time in labor and whatever parts it will need. Thanks for all the replies!

Re: Original Arizona 69 C20 longhorn

If you can get it cheap enough & do a flip do it. As for the Longhorn market, it's pretty small in my area. They take forever to sell it seems in my area at least. There's an older restored one near me for $4600usd & has been for sale for a year now.

Re: Original Arizona 69 C20 longhorn

As to the value of a longhorn, the market is smaller, but that doesn't mean you can't find the right buyer and get a good amount. For me, it all depends on paint and options, almost as much as condition. I'd pay just as much or more for an original paint longhorn than any other original paint truck besides a 4x4. That being said, this color is not my cup of tea, and I would not be as interested in it as any other original paint truck wearing blue, black, red, white, green, or yellow. If it has been repainted I lose interest due to fear of bondo or less than stellar bodywork.
