Headers for slammed 64

I have read a bunch of threads about headers and haven’t found what I am looking for. I have a 64 with a 350 that is bagged. When aired out the truck rests on the collector flange. Need some new headers that will stay within the frame. I’m aware of the shorty or block hugger route or ram horn. I would prefer to stick with a full length header. What headers are you running? Thanks as always.

For a full length header, you'll probably have to fabricate that yourself, or have a custom set made. There aren't any full length headers that I know of that will locate the collector above the bottom of the frame.

Hedman Street Headers 69230. They look like long tube units but exit above the lower frame.

Thanks. That’s was one that I was thinking about. My only concerns is they are round ports and my heads are square. Dose that make a difference?

The Hedman 69230 headers as well as Camaro, Chevelle headers will be above the bottom of the frame, but the bellhousing crossmember will have to be removed. Most headers do have round ports. To get headers with square ports you will have to go with a higher end header.

Keep us posted on the square port headers when you find them.

Don't worry at all about the square port into a round tube header. Some miss-match is apparently good for anti-reversion. It's a good thing.

Re: Headers for slammed 64

Thank you all for your posts. I ended up going with the headman 69230. They have a 1-5/8” tube which by my flashlight measurements is larger than the exhaust ports on the head. I will hopefully get them installed this weekend and post some pictures.

Re: Headers for slammed 64

Finally had good enough weather to do the final install. I used the headman 69230 headers. All I had to do was put a slight dent in the #-“1 cylinder tube for clearance of the motor mount. Other then that they fit as well as could expect. Here are some pictures of them installed. Hope they are helpful for others.
