Thumbs up Check out the engine swap I get to do at work!

Would you believe a 68 P30 that was bought for 500 bucks from a local school is being put to work for Air Borne Express?
They were complaining that the power steering wasn't working...they about crapped themselves when i told them it didn't have that option.
Now they complain that the 50,000 mile old 307 is a dog, so i talked them into a new 350. I also talked them into an HEI set up and a new internal regulated alt too.
This sucker is in pretty darn good shape and I swear, everytime I look at it I want an ice cream cone.

Wow, that's pretty sweet! How are you going to get the engine out, put the cherry picker INSIDE the vehicle and pull it up from there? Looks like that's going to be a fun project! Just tell them you have to test drive it to get all the bugs out of it when you're done, and then and get some pics of it!

Yup, the cherry picker will go into the passenger side door, and the engine comes right up through the cover where the pic is taken.
I already have the engine sitting on the floor leaking antifreeze into the drain. I was planning on taking this engien home, but the dealer wants it for a core. (Why they want a 307 I'll never know) But, it is worth way more to the dealer than it is to anyone I know. (500 bucks)
I'm trying to talk them into a tilt...it is a real PITA to get in and out of that sucker with that wheel in your lap. I could only imagine how bad it is for the driver assigned to teh truck...he is a little short for his weight.

Hmmm, I would say cable, but that seems kinda old for a cable set up. I honestly didn't notice. the tranny was left untouched and some one else went under to support the tranny when i was pulling the tranny bolts out the bellhousing.

Paint it green and it would remind me of the van from Cheech and Chongs Up In Smoke. That one said "sweet and low upholstery"

I've always wanted to start an old fashioned ice cream truck business. Like back in the '50's when the guy was dressed in a white suit and hat who was nice to the kids and pulled real ice cream cones. Not these losers driving three wheelers with out of tune music playing and making you chase them for 2 blocks before they stop.
