Rain, what is that? I can't even BBQ because of our burn bans here in Texas.....

If you are getting rain be glad, everything is a tinderbox here.

No burning in Texas and Okla too, I heard that. I visited my dad in Tulsa early December and it snowed, now he reports some days in the 70s... wow talk about bad trip planning on my part.

Please send it my way if you do not want it anymore. I would kinda like to grill a steak and not have to worry about catching the grass on fire, or the house, trees, etc. not to mention the arm and a leg " burning without a permit" ticket that would ensue if I did start a fire.

Lime Green Truck

The Lime Green color on the truck was in all probability a spring special color unique to Canadain trucks just like my pink & white truck.. I remember seeing those lime green trucks driving around in the 70's.. I also remember seeing factory painted purple/violet colored ones too.
GM must have done the same as Chrysler did for Spring Specials in 70 with the Panther Pink, Go Mango et all colors..

Re: More trucks to add to collection

A lot of trucks had unussual colors because they were ordered for bussiness use.I have seen a orange 67 small window short step that was the original paint and the original interior was maroon.I was a horrible combination but who am I to second guess someone from 30+ years ago.
BTW just for info in some cases this was a COPO from what I've been told.

Check out the cool (horse-drawn ???) "road grader" back behind the welder tanks in the fifth picture & also can see it behind the trucks in the first picture.

Years since I've seen one of those......

Re: More trucks to add to collection

Joe, if I buy the Lime truck I will give you the lime one out of my parts truck. It has been repainted tan, but I think they just sprayed over the lime without prepping because it is peeling off all over the interior. If I can get it cleaned up nice I will just send it to you. Already Gone, what does your glovebox say for the color on your truck? Does it list it as special paint or does it say an actual color? Years ago an old guy stopped me at a gas station and told me he remembers when Peter's Chev (our old dealership) had a line up of these ugly (his words) lime trucks in the lot. He figured there were 5-10 there, all the same. I have seen a total of 5 in our area over the years, and just assumed that a Prince Albert company special ordered a batch for whatever reason. A springtime special or whatever could be the reason too. I find this very interesting. Anyone think calling GM would help? I thought I heard they had some type of restoration help number or something??

Thanks! I have been collecting GB doors with odd or rare options on them for some time. Now I need to get some odd colors.

Just let me know what you guys decide. I will pay you for your time and shipping.

Hi HeavyD.. My glove box door is chromed so there is no data plate on it. However I did write to GM last year and got the "45.00 info package" for my truck from them and found out my truck started life dark green and white.. The story goes that a man in Alberta redid this truck for his daughter years back. I do have his name and number but have never called him, maybe I will do that one cold day this winter. He must have done it right cause there is no green anywhere on the truck..

Re: More trucks to add to collection

In Canada we didn't switch to metric speed limits till later in the 70's. My first speeding ticket was in 1978, and it was in MPH. Basic would be Block heater for sure, what elese who knows, These trucks were pertty basic. Safety equip would have been the same I think, we always got all the pollution stuff when you guys did too.
