I have the Hooker ceramic comps on my 72 corvette. I love them however I have only had them for 6 mos. Early classic had some ceramic coated for lowered trucks. I think they say there A mid length header (approx. $350.). I have heard Hedman are good headers also and I beleive threw summit they were $119. painted. Hope this helps.

I know these are more than you want to spend but Sanderson headers are very nice. I think they make some of the best in the business.

I have Flo-tech's Six years old and just fine. I've painted them twice. Rust isn't much of a problem here.

A couple pictures to show where the collectors are..

Krue,
I have left and right side ram horns. They need cleaning and new studs. Let me know if you're interested.

Looks like I scored a manifold. Gotta get it in the morning and put it on before I celebrate.
Thanks GMan69, I really appreciate the quick response!

Question:

I'm installing a 454 in my son's 72 c20, haven't bought the headers yet, Can you paint these with the caliper paint which is rated for about 1000 degrees?

So those Chevelle shorty headers fit our trucks? Where do the collectors end up, higher than the framerails?

I just bought Dynamax coated headers for my truck from Jegs. They look and fit real nice , but they hang below the frame kinda low. I am not sure if I am going to lower my truck yet , probably will . I wish these were not so low. Do you guys know for sure that the above post for Dynamax shorty headers fit our trucks and that they will allow the exhaust to be run above the crossmember ? I can always sell the set I have and buy these. Now is the time to do it as my truck is getting ready to finally be complete. If I do buy these other headers I will have a nice set for sale that has been installed and started a few times but never run on the road. Thanks

Saw the post so I went digging through the recipt file and found the info on my headers. Part # B/J10B5057 Blackjack headers w/lifetime warranty for my BB402 $99.99 from the Lynnwood Super Shops store on 5/10/85.

On 9/7/95 I have a recipt (also from Super Shops) for a $86.54 credit on those headers, towards a set of #CYC86931 Cyclone replacement headers, also with a lifetime warranty for $259.99. These headers are on my truck today. They have Jet Hot ceramic coating on them. After 9 years these seem to be okie-dokie.

It appears that both Cyclone and Super Shops are no more.
