These things break all the time. Most people complain about no heat at defrost, or not hot enough, or no heat at vents, etc.......most likely it's this blending door tab. I bet you could fabricate something for it and it will certainly help with the problem. I replace mine last year.

Looking at some of your older posts, the wetness in the passenger....did you also check your heater core? If it was leaking, it would drip down in that same area and have a coolant/sweet smell. Might just check that while you're in there.
