Hella (and a few others) make a 55 watt low beam 100 watt high beam H4 bulb that works great in those lights.

I ran them in my CJ5. High beam is brutal but the low beam side is street legal.

The best thing is that they are not blue tinted.

dangit! late to the party. guess that's what i get for being MIA for a few months dealing with life oh well. congrats FF to getting it on the road. Looks awesome, sounds awesome, waiting to get the call to book my flight for the Shotgun ride jk....

i can't wait to see it all finished, the interior squared away, paint done. the rear rack you might want to find one from a MG. i think they had some low profile ones. some of the older lotus had some too.

give me some motivation to get back in my garage now, but i still can't touch my nova..... guess i'll have to work on my 20V rebuild.

The heat shrink hose clamps work great, we use them on Cummins and Perkins diesel engines here at work.

If those are the Hella non-DOT headlights, I run those on my 63 Chevy II and love them. With headlight relays it's like driving a new car, nice and bright without the annoying blue that some bright headlights have.

Thanks man

Decided the exhaust tone was a little too mild. So I went ahead and put the Coast Fabrication muffler on to see how I like it. Sounds more aggressive I can easily swap back to the FM if this one turns out to be too much.

Need to get a sound clip.

Park/Turn housings refurbed. This one had a little rust spot. Thus cleaning and painting was required (for both). Can't just put it back the way I found it..

This is the 2nd worst rust spot I've found on the whole car (other one was in the eng comp near the DS hood hinge - fixed).

Modular headlights arrived:

OG on left:

You can see the new one has less dome (I like the original look more, but oh well - Should be worth it)

New:

New on PS OG on DS:

Made up a harness for running the lights through relays. This way I can upgrade the bulbs later to higher wattage.

Yep. Direct replacement for 7" sealed beam low/hi beams.

Should work on chevy trucks too.

I used a different brand of headlight kit, PAL I think, looks almost identical to your hellas. They have about the same amount of crown to the glass. I had tried some cheap set before and they were perfectly flat on the glass. They were poorly built and I didn't like the look so I sent them back to amazon. The new lights made a huge difference, especially once I go tthem aimed properly. You're going to like the upgrade.

Nice job on the throttle. Looks unmolested.

Thanks man. Good to hear more positive reviews on the lights. They are all hooked up with relays now and look BRIGHT. Can't wait to drive with them!

Weatherpacks on turn signals: brilliant idea. Although I am irritated with you now because now my regular old 1972 connectors on the C10 are not going to be good enough (now that I have seen that) and I will have to do the same thing!!!

The "might-as-wells..." They get me too, just at a much lower level of craftsmanship.

Yeah, but just think... now water's going to get up inside of there and fog up your lens and blow your bulbs...

...thinking about fixing it now, aren't you? Just close it up with a little caulk or silicone

Bulkhead Fitting here.

The relays simply take the headlight current instead of the switch and dimmer. Now the headlight switch and dimmer switch activate the relays, while the relay passes the high current directly from the battery to the lights. I know there's a FAQ on it here somewhere... If you don't find a diagram let me know and I can make one.

Thanks for the info, that fitting is real nice. I'll look for that FAQ for more info. A friend used the same lights, just curious about the install. Great work as usual.

The lights bolt-in/plug-and-play! I only added the relays for added brightness and future bulb wattage upgrades.
