Re: What's the strangest thing...

i bought a 92 Nissan truck from a closing Napa store a few years back for $200 dollars. It was nasty inside so i took the seat out to clean the carpet. When i pulled the seat out I found a bank bag with about $150 dollars worth of rolled change. That made the truck even cheaper.

Re: What's the strangest thing...

Didn't someone once find a beer can behind the kickpanel in their truck. If I remember he found it when he tore it all apart. It had to have been put there at the factory on the assembly line. I will see if I can find the thread, but it was very old.

I would have to say the huge amounts of spray construction foam used to fill the canyon sized rust holes in the rockers...

Cut, sanded and covered over with a layer of bondo, primer and house paint!

Re: What's the strangest thing...

a set of ss cragars, and about one hundred bottles of unopened bud lite. all buried under mounds of garbage guess since the truck was green they mistook it for a dumpster. luckily I was wearing my **** kickers and the guy wasn't home when I went to pick it up because all the garbage was left in his yard.

Re: What's the strangest thing...

A turtle shell covering the hole in the intake where the carb used to be.

Several tools, including a 1 1/16 Craftsman wrench.

Took a heater box apart & found a mouse nest (not uncommon), but in the mouse nest was a sock & 3 or 4 corn cobs, and dead mice.

An air cleaner crammed totally full of dog food.

Re: What's the strangest thing...

My bb truck had nothing of real interest, but the 4x4 was a state trooper's daily driver and I found enough change and .38 shells loaded and unloaded to start my own police department. The driver's door hinge had given up the ghost in one of the trucks 5 repaints- originally green and then black 4 times, and they had used a wooden handled screw driver to replace the hinge pin, whatever is handy I guess.

Re: What's the strangest thing...

My truck had been sittin in the woods for 12 years. First I found a rat nest with a momma and 4 baby rats in the glovebox. Once I cleaned out the rats and nest I found the protectoplate and owners manual under the nest. Two weeks later I found a corn or yellow rat snake 6 or 7 feet worth using my amp cooling fins to shed with.

Found a heavy duty big metal torch stuck down the side of the front side fender! I had it on a hoist and saw this thing up the fender and went to investigate! So if you are missing a torch it is now here in Australia! You are most welcome to come get it!!!!

Re: What's the strangest thing...

This was n't a truck but afew days ago there was a story on the news that someone got an "old Car" (they didn't say what) and got it home and when they started to go through it they poped the trunk and it was loaded with dynamite. They called the bomb squad and after they got rid of it they said they were very surprised it didn't go off as it was unstable.

Re: What's the strangest thing...

I got lots of headache with the PO wiring techniques.

I found an old wood handled Phillip screw driver in the passenger side fender. and when i pulled the bench seat I found the original sales brochure stuffed under the seat.

Under the carpet I found out the PO had cut out the hump to make transmission mounting a "through the cab deal"..lol

But most important I found my heart too.

Re: What's the strangest thing...

I found a Notice From the Japanese war in the Philippines of a Prisoner of war
for a man Named William Brown. P.F.C USA

They evidentially were able to send messages to family notifying that they were P.O.W's

Its a Treasure now
That war was the Death March of bataan in 1942.

The march, involving the forcible transfer of 75,000 American and Filipino prisoners of war captured by the Japanese in the Philippines from the Bataan peninsula to prison camps. its said that between 6-11 thousand men died..
We'll never know if William Brown. P.F.C made it home....I'll pretend he did
