This kit will be a UPS shipped item... just like the front. As mentioned, I designed it in pieces that will meet the packaging and weight specs... who wants to pay truck freight?

Also, I have gained enough experience with UPS to understand that they do not take it easy on packages... especially the heavy ones! After dealing with torn box issues in the beginning, I have since switched to double boxing all components (two double walled boxes, with hardware and other pieces boxed inside) ... a little more spendy for me with the custom sized boxes, but I haven't had a "lost" component since.

Re: Dropmember Rear 63-72 Spy Pic

OK guys... my OCD kicked in over the past week, and I ended up modifying the notch in order to make installation MUCH easier. The new notch design is a three piece... the main notch will slide over the rails, it will get bolted in place, the bridge then bolts in place, then the frame section gets cut-out, and finally the inner bridge cap/supports get bolted on. This thing is a beast...

Will the inner bridge cap be one piece? Would you have a problem towing with this setup?

What exactly do you mean by "inner bridge cap"?

As for towing... I would not recommend towing with frame that has been notched.

Re: Dropmember Rear 63-72 Spy Pic

Will the notches be modular- say if someone wanted to change to a larger notch later for taller tires/wheels or just wanted to go lower- would it be a bolt-in swap?

The notches are a modular design. If one originally purchased a 26" notch and later decided to switch to a 32" notch, they would just need to unbolt the original notch, and bolt-in the larger one (sounds a lot easier than it really would be). All the drilled mounting locations are universal for the notches.

I'm sure Nate will correct me if I'm wrong ( it happens ) but the last specs I got was the rear DM topped out at a whopping 12.5" above the top of the factory rail. I believe tyhe actual quote from Nate was " Your plywood floor is ready for the fire pile"

The biggest notch I make (will lay a 32" tire) sits 12.5" above the frame-rail at the axle center-line, with the bridge piece bolted on. People ask... how much do I have to "trim" the bed floor? It's best to remove it and start over.
