Here ya go................

Monroe sensatrac #5752, paid 22.99 each at Advance Auto Parts. I re-used the upper mount by cutting off the flat washer then drilling a small hole to accept a pin to keep the shock on the stud. I can get pictures of the upper mount this weekend.

For my ride height and driving conditions, the 5752's work great.

I'm also having the same problem finding shocks. Did the search,did the google, looked in the mags. problem is the bags now have so much lift that unless you can find a shock with more than 10" travel your bags will never reach full lift. If you do find one with 10" than the compressed length is over 14" which means the lower shock mount is almost dragging the ground or the top mount is half way in the bed. I need a back shock that is no longer than 12" compressed,and my bags travel 10"

the shocks that s10 fan has posted are on my truck and work perfect!! and my truck has 23/4" cups in the LCA...check out spraybombs post on how to build these some night when you have nothing to do it takes about an hour to build plus in and out time

1st off knowone runs the bags at full extention...at least not for long because they ride like a brick with that much air in them...

2nd your rear lower shock mount can be flipped and a slight mod to the uppers and your back in a stock shock unless you are running more than a 2 1/2" c notch in the frame ( there is a post about this too)

If I find the posts again (meaning I get an email about someone posting on them) I'll post both builds here.....If I found the info then so can you but if your looking for a low budget lowering all the info is here

FRONT:
cup your LCA (2 3/4") per SprayBombs spec 8" pipe and a plate ( I found about a 1/8" shim on the UCA shaft straightens out your camber issue pretty close)

monroe 5752 per S10Fan out of a 50ish chysler and brian mine came with eye eye so I reused the stock frame bolt....

this will get your X member about 1 1/2" off the ground with a stock 235/75/15 on rallies and you can drive it @ full dump your LCA is against your X but steering is good from stop to stop

2"drop spindles will put your tires into the inner fender (since wheel wells will be a thing of the past already) but you can lay X oh and watch the heater box your way to close to drive it and hood hindges too!!

REAR:

4" of 5" pipe cut in half and welded in makes a cheap strong c notch just box the back of the frame for a foot or so

kick the springs out and bolt in the bags a 90* fitting with a 3" extention makes hooking up air lines alot easier use a step bit to make the hole for the air line..sucky job but hey it's cheap

now take the lower shock mount off and flip from left to right flatten it out bolt it back on...on top there is a post about making it shorter but I found it not neccecary with only a 2 1/2" c notch you will hit frame before the shock bottoms out

Ok now you know everything I do ( which ain't much) but I run this truck everyday it drives VERY well I have about 4000 miles on mine trouble free I do want to add an adjustable track bar or watts link (prefered and cheap $60 @ summit) to keep the back square

Hottrucks thanks for the info. 1st I step notched a 56 to lay out. I wasn't planning to drive it fully aired up but it would be nice to be able to take it to full travel, for repair /inspection/ cleaning. I built my own trailing arms and plan to mount the shocks off the rear of the arms to the step notch. I need to fab my own brackets. I'm just concerned about hitting something and breaking off a shock mount being so low, and trying to keep as much bed depth as I can. I guess I really don't have a choice. I did find a monroe shock #37186 that is 14" comp with 10 1/4" travel. If this helps anyone else out.

if you move the shock mount to the front of the notch your travel will be less so a shorter shock may work for you...
